Top 3 Autumn Lipsticks

Tuesday, October 20, 2015

Autumn is the time of year were you dig out all those jumpers and scarves that have been at the back of your wardrobe for the past year and give them life again. It's also the time of year in which make up changes slightly with the colours of lipsticks become darker and more berry like. My berry lipsticks get a new lease of life around the Autumn and Winter months as I don't often wear them during the rest of the year. Today's post is all about my top 3 Autumn lipsticks that are perfect for this time of year.

Like a lot of bloggers I lust over the branded berry lipsticks but at this moment in time, I can't afford to spend £20 on a lipstick that I may love very dearly but will only wear for around 4 months. So as always drugstore lipsticks are my friend. Which to be honest, I'm totally fine with because you still get a very nice quality lipstick, just for half the price!

First off we have a lipstick that isn't a berry shade, but sometimes you need a lipstick that is neutral and this is one of my favourite neutral drugstore lipsticks. It's in the shade Rosewood by Max Factor and yeah you guessed it, I bought it because of PLL. I had seen Kirstie talk about it and as soon as I saw the shade and the name of the lipstick, I was sold. It's a lovely dusty pink shade and has a lovely, creamy feel when applied. I included this non-berry lipstick in this post because sometimes even I want a break from the darker lip and sometimes a neutral lipstick works better with an outfit.

This was the first berry shaded lipstick I bought, because I wanted to join the bandwagon but didn't want to spend a fortune on a lipstick that might not suit me. So this lipstick is in the shade 30 by Rimmel Kate Moss. This is a matte lipstick compared to the others which have a shiny finished look. I'm pretty sure you can still buy this shade although I bought it around a year ago now. This is my go to dark lipstick for this time of year.

Last but not least is my latest purchase and addition to the ever growing lipstick collection. To be honest, I could of done without buying this as money is tight this month (saving up is SOOO boring and hard) but ya know, you can't have too many lipsticks. This lipstick is in the shade Mulberry by Max Factor and I LOVE it. It's my new favourite without a doubt. It applies so lovely and it's not as in your face as other berry lipsticks. Although you can tell it's a berry shade, it's a lot more subtle (if that makes ANY sense at all, you'll understand if you own this lipstick). Below is what it looks like on:

I hope you enjoyed this little round up of my Top 3 Autumn Lipsticks. I love this time of the year and what is Autumn if you can't wear a berry lipstick? I'll definitely be taking these lipsticks away with my on my little trip to Edinburgh next month!
